
It was a sensational start to the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 as New Zealand batter Finn Allen smashed 151 off just 51 deliveries for San Francisco Unicorns against Washington Freedom in the opening match of the season in Oakland on June 13 (Friday).
He got to his fifty off just 21 deliveries and his century in just 34 deliveries. Moreover, he brought up his 150 off just 49 deliveries, which is the fastest to the landmark, beating Dewald Brevis' record of 52 balls. Allen's ton is also the second-fastest ton in franchise cricket history, with only Chris Gayle (30 balls) getting to the landmark quicker.
Allen's innings was studded with as many as 19 sixes, which is a world record for most sixes hit in a T20 match, beating Gayle's record from 2017.

This was Allen's second hundred of the MLC and the highest-ever individual score in the competition, beating Nicholas Pooran's 137 for MI New York (MINY) in the MLC 2023 final. He was eventually dismissed for 151 off jyst 51 deliveries.
The 26-year-old's effort saw the Unicons register 269/5 - the highest total in the MLC. In fact they hold the record for the top three highest scores in MLC history.
