Kuldeep Yadav expressed his intense disappointment at the umpire after Keyur Kelkar denied the left-arm wrist spinner his 100th IPL wicket, in the clash against Gujarat Titans, on May 18 (Sunday).
The left-arm wrist spinner was on 99 wickets before the clash, and had been on that mark for the past few games. Kuldeep was convinced that he had trapped the talented left-handed batter Sai Sudharsan right in front of the stumps, only to be denied by the umpire.
Like always, the left-arm wrist spinner was more than convinced, asking his skipper, Axar Patel, to go upstairs for the review. But as it turned out, the ball didn’t hit the stumps enough to overturn the umpire’s call of not-out.
Agitated by the decision, Kuldeep confronted the Indian umpire, audibly telling him ‘Out tha yaar (It was out)’ before giving him a death stare, as he walked back to his bowling crease, annoyed. Fortunately, however, DC did not lose a review, as it was umpire’s call.
