
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), on June 5, issued their official statement after many unfortunate incidents of stampede led to the death of 11 people during the celebratory parade held on June 4 in the city after the team’s major IPL title win on June 3.
The franchise also announced that they will, in a gesture of solidarity and respect, pay an amount of INR 10 Lakh to the family of all the deceased.
“The unfortunate incident in Bengaluru yesterday has caused a lot of anguish and pain to the RCB family,” the franchise said in a statement. “As a mark of respect and a gesture of solidarity, RCB has announced financial support of INR 10 lakh to each of the eleven families of the deceased. In addition, a fund called RCB Cares is also being created to support fans injured in this tragic incident.”
“Our fans will always remain at the heart of everything that we do. We remain united in grief,” it added.
Along with RCB, the Government of Karnataka will also pay INR 10 Lakh to the deceased’s family while also bearing the cost of the treatment of those injured.
