Mumbai Indians’ champion opener Rohit Sharma brought up his 300th six in Indian Premier League (IPL) in the clash against Gujarat Titans, on May 30 (Friday). In the process, Rohit became only the second-ever batter in IPL history to get to the historic landmark after Chris Gayle (357).
Not just that, Rohit also brought up his third IPL fifty in the playoffs, getting to the landmark off just 28 deliveries. Previously, Rohit smashed two fifties, a 51-ball 68 against Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020 final and a 26-ball 50 against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2015 final.
On the night, Rohit had quite a lucky start, with two drops (one on 3 and the other on 12) before taking on the bowlers head-on. The 38-year-old smashed Sai Kishore for his first six before taking on an out-of-form Rashid Khan for his second six, which took him to the 300 sixes club.
