
India’s left-handed batter Tilak Varma will play for Hampshire in the County Championship, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) said on June 11 (Wednesday).
According to a report on Cricbuzz, Tilak will be available for two months. He will feature in four four-day games, but his participation in white-ball games is still not clear.
“The Hyderabad Cricket Association is happy to inform that Hyderabad International player Mr. N Thakur Tilak Varma has been approached by Hampshire County to play in the UK County Championship League," HCA said in a release.
The left-handed batter, who has played four ODIs and 25 T20Is for India, has played 18 first-class games, scoring 1204 runs at an average of more than 50. He has five centuries and four fifties to his name.
In the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Tilak scored 343 runs in 13 innings at an average of 31.18.
On June 10, Yorkshire signed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad for the remainder of the season.
