At 40 years and 51 days old, Mohammad Nabi is not getting any younger, but there seems to be no stopping him either.
In Afghanistan’s clash against South Africa today, the country’s first-ever Champions Trophy fixture, Nabi was introduced to bowl in the sixth over after South Africa had gotten off to a strong start, 28/0 in 5 overs.
The man with the golden arm, Nabi struck on his very first ball, removing the dangerous Tony de Zorzi.
By doing so, Nabi became the first Afghanistan bowler to take a wicket in the Champions Trophy.
Below we look at the first bowler from each country to take a Champions Trophy wicket. The Champions Trophy was formerly known as the ICC Knockout Trophy, and its first edition was played in 1998 in Bangladesh.
