Anshul Kamboj continued to be a menace for England Lions, with his maiden first-class half-century, on June 9 (Monday), at the County Ground in Northampton. The 24-year-old walked out to bat with India A on 268/7 and made a well-constructed 86-ball 51. His knock included hitting five fours and a six.
It wasn’t the first time that Kamboj had impressed on the ‘A’ tour, as he scored 23 in the first unofficial Test between the two sides. Earlier in the second unofficial Test in Northampton, Kamboj had picked up a two-wicket haul, including the wicket of Ben McKinney for the second time in two games.
Kamboj’s 149-run stand alongside Tanush Kotian (108-ball 90) gave the India ‘A’ side a strong finish, as they declared on 417/7 on the final day of the clash. The CSK star then continued that same stellar show with the ball in hand, picking up two crucial wickets with the new ball.
In his second over of the run-chase, the right-arm seamer first accounted for Emilio Gay before cleaning up Jordan Cox, for a four-ball duck.
