3 Famous Batters Who Have Never Hit A Six In IPL

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has given us some of the best six-hitters in the history of cricket. The likes of Chris Gayle, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and AB de Villiers have all smashed more than 250 sixes in the IPL. It’s almost impossible to talk about the IPL without mentioning those six-hitters, after all that’s what most of the fans want to watch.
However, there have been some famous batters who haven’t hit a single six in the IPL, and here we look at three such players.
Michael Clarke
Australia’s World Cup-winning captain Michael Clarke featured in six games for now-defunct Pune Warriors India in 2012 and scored 98 runs at an average of 16.33 and a strike rate of 104.3, but couldn’t hit a single six in the 94 deliveries he faced in the competition.
Only Nitin Saini (140) and Mitchell Starc (105) have more IPL runs than Clarke without a maximum.
Shoaib Malik
Pakistan’s spin-bowling all-rounder Shoaib Malik played seven games for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the first edition of the IPL and managed only 52 runs at an average of 13 and a strike rate of 110.6.
Overall, Malik has 421 sixes in 551 T20s.
Rassie van der Dussen
South African batter Rassie van der Dussen made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals in 2022 and played three matches for the franchise. The right-handed batter, however, couldn’t make any impact and scored 22 runs at a strike rate of 91.7.
When it comes to T20s, van der Dussen has 286 maximums.
